Your First Visit
What to Expect at Your First Appointment at Swiatek Orthodontics
Our main objective at Swiatek Orthodontics is to make sure your visits with us are pleasant and informative. The initial appointment is performed at no charge to you and will consist of a thorough examination and a discussion of potential treatment options. This very exciting and important visit will address the orthodontic needs of you or your child and usually takes about 50 minutes.
Diagnostic Records and Treatment Planning
Your first orthodontic appointment in our office will be a time for both the patient and the doctor to gather important information. At this time we will have you fill out a health history. Please alert the office if you have a
medical condition that may be of concern (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and/or joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).
After paperwork, we will take diagnostic x-rays and diagnostic photos to provide Dr. Swiatek with current and accurate information. This is also your opportunity to gather information about orthodontics and braces. Dr. Swiatek will conduct the orthodontic examination and discuss your individual and appropriate orthodontic treatment. Dr. Swiatek feels it is important to analyze each patient’s specific needs because in depth planning leads to superior results and higher patient satisfaction.
Finally we will discuss the fee for the treatment and work diligently to make sure it fits into your budget. It is important to us that you leave our office with a clear understanding and confidence in what orthodontic treatment can do for you, how much it will cost and how long it will take. We pride ourselves in educating our patients and encourage you to ask any questions you may have. We want you to leave our office feeling excited about the possibilities of your new smile!
