Your Custom Made Smile Designed just for you

So what happens when you choose Invisalign?  Once Dr. Swiatek determines that Invisalign is right for you, he sends a detailed treatment plan, along with your orthodontics records to Align Technology, and a set of virtually invisible aligners will be manufactured. An Invisalign aligner may look like a simple piece of plastic, but it’s much more. With advanced technology, your Invisalign aligners are custom-made for you, and only you. Over time, your teeth should move to reveal the smile you’ve always wanted! So take a look at the steps you and Dr. Swiatek will take to get you to a brand-new smile:

Your treatment plan begins with a free consultation with Dr. Swiatek who is an experienced Invisalign provider. During that consultation, you and Dr. Swiatek will discuss the options to treat your particular issues. Once he confirms your issue can be corrected with Invisalign, his staff will obtain the necessary orthodontic records: a couple x-rays, photographs of your face and teeth, and impressions or a scan of your teeth.  The doctor will write a detailed prescription for Align Technology, the company that makes Invisalign aligners.  The prescription tells Align how each of your aligners will work to align your teeth throughout your treatment.

When you begin treatment, you’ll wear each set of aligners for two weeks. The aligners gently move your teeth into position, and at the end of each two-week period, you “graduate” to the next set of custom aligners.

As you progress through the series of aligners, your teeth move, little by little. And you don’t have to wait until you complete treatment to see your smile change — you may well start seeing positive changes early in the process. You will have occasional checkups — usually once every six to ten weeks — to gauge your progress. And at the end of your treatment, you’ll be showing off a smile you are proud of!

So how long will it take to finish your treatment? For most adults, treatment time is under one year. Of course, your total treatment time depends on your particular situation, so Dr. Swiatek will give you an estimate of treatment time at your first visit.

You are in control of your treatment’s success. Take the aligners out only to eat, drink, and brush your teeth. You’ll soon be on your way to the smile you’ve always dreamed of!
